I first discovered hypnotherapy when it helped me kick a 30-a-day smoking habit many years ago. After several failed attempts to stop, I had resigned myself to being a smoker for life, but after one session of hypnotherapy I never touched a cigarette again. It was this life-changing experience that inspired me to train as a hypnotherapist myself and I have now helped many other people become non-smokers too.
Having my first child introduced me to the concept of hypnobirthing, as I learnt some visualisations through pregnancy yoga that helped during labour. However, my overall birth experience was not a positive one. I knew what I felt was right for me and my baby but I didn't have the knowledge or confidence to follow my instincts and challenge procedural intervention. The result? I felt insignificant, patronised, scared and very uncontrolled.
Afterwards, I discovered that, sadly, many women have had a similar experience. I became passionate about helping other mums-to-be, so I trained in hypnobirthing and developed the MAMA IN MIND hypnobirth programme to empower women everywhere. I was able to draw on it personally for the birth of my second baby which was a positive, controlled and powerfully liberating experience.
I have a Diploma in Hypnotherapy and am a certified HypnoBirth practitioner. I am an accredited member of the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC, PSA-regulated), the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR), the
Genera l Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC) and the UK Guild of Hypnotist Examiners (UKGHE). I am fully insured.
My previous background is in corporate training and I still regularly practise as an executive coach, working one-to-one with senior management to improve confidence, presentation and communication skills.
I am married to Adam and have two wonderful boys called Jude and Corin.
